In response, I create places where overlooked individuals become iconic representations of daily life. The themes in the paintings can range from the frustrations, injustices and unfairness of life, to the humour and curiosity sparked by being around other people. The people depicted can be the subject, but more often than not, I ask a family member or friend to pose for me to illustrate our surreal world.
I am an observer in an unobservant world.
